Sophie’s Pet Spa
Terms & Conditions
By booking an appointment with Sophie’s Pet Spa, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These policies help us provide a safe, fair and caring service for every dog.
1
Booking & deposit
- A £10 non-refundable deposit is required to secure every grooming appointment.
- Your appointment is not confirmed until the deposit has been received.
- The deposit will be deducted from your final bill.
2
Cancellation policy
- Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment.
- Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will result in the loss of the deposit.
- No-shows will forfeit the deposit and may be required to pay the full grooming fee in advance for future bookings.
3
Flea & tick policy
- If fleas or ticks are found during the groom, a flea-treatment shampoo may be applied.
- An additional flea-treatment and salon-sanitisation charge will apply.
- Dogs with severe infestations may be asked to return after appropriate veterinary treatment has been completed.
4
Matted coat policy
- Matted coats can cause pain and may hide skin problems.
- Severely matted coats will usually need to be clipped short for the dog’s welfare.
- Removing matting may reveal or cause temporary skin irritation, redness or small nicks.
- Additional charges apply for heavily matted coats due to the extra time and care required.
- By booking, you authorise us to remove matting in the safest and most humane manner possible.
5
Dangerous or aggressive dogs
- Owners must tell us before the appointment about any history of aggression, biting, anxiety or handling difficulties.
- We reserve the right to refuse or stop a groom if a dog cannot be handled safely.
- Charges will apply for any work already completed.
- Muzzles may be used where appropriate and safe to do so.
6
Health & welfare
- Please tell us about any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, recent surgeries, medications or behavioural concerns.
- We may refuse grooming if it could compromise your dog’s health or welfare.
- In an emergency, if you cannot be contacted, you authorise us to seek veterinary treatment on your behalf. Veterinary costs remain the owner’s responsibility unless caused by our negligence.
7
General
- Please ensure your dog is up to date with vaccinations, or has veterinary exemption advice.
- Dogs should be collected promptly once you have been notified. Late collections may incur an additional fee.
- We may take before-and-after photos for our social media and marketing. Please let us know if you do not want your dog to be photographed.
